Understanding your strengths as an agency owner đȘ
How to expand your business and design a life that works FOR you.
Welcome back to The Agency CEO (by me, Jesse Gilmore at Niche in Control).
Every Thursday, I send you a quick 10-minute read on the tools, tactics, and systems that the top 1% of agency owners have used to scale their businesses to 8-figures and beyond.
This week, weâre discussing the importance of honest self-assessment in expanding our business and building a rewarding life.
Letâs dive in đ
âIf you want an organization that is self-forming, self-motivating, and focused on performance, your team needs you to lead the way. Leading by example and modeling the behaviors and actions that you want in your organization is the quickest way to achieve organizational alignment.â
How to Understand (and Leverage) Your Strengths and Weaknesses
Knowing yourself - your unique strengths, weaknesses, and personality type - is crucial to the success of your business and, more importantly, your happiness.
The better you understand:
The way your mind works
What motivates and energizes you
Where your weaknesses might lie
The more effectively you can lead, delegate, and create a life and business that you truly love.
Sure, you can fight against your nature, or even go your whole life without truly understanding your strengths and weaknesses.
But life, work, relationships, EVERYTHING becomes that much easier when we understand ourselves, lean into our strengths and account for our weaknesses.
Now, how do we conduct an honest and probing self-assessment?
Lucky for us, there are a few tools & tests that we can utilize - Iâll share my favorite three with you.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI): This assessment provides insight into your personality type, traits, and behavioral tendencies.
Kolbe A Index: This tool evaluates your instincts - how you get things done when youâre 100% free to be yourself.
CliftonStrengths: This assessment identifies your innate strengths, so that you can develop and leverage your natural talents to succeed.
ACTION ITEM: As soon as you close this email, take one (or ideally all three) of these tests. Look for themes that emerge across the results of the different tests. Where are your strengths? Lean into them. Where are your weaknesses? Thatâs where you should delegate.
There is no more rewarding and effective exercise than developing our understanding of ourselves. Donât wait another day to get started. Itâs too important to your success.
